A place for United Methodists and others to explore and share their ideas, resources, visions, and dreams of or about mission, ministry and worship in the emerging missional way... Hosted by Taylor Burton-Edwards, Director of Worship Resources, GBOD. http://www.umcworship.orgworship@gbod.org
Our Advent Theme at Custer Road UMC in Plano TX has been "What does God want for Christmas" A lot of what we've been doing is in line with what Advent Conspiracy is going for. Advent Conspiracy is good stuff but the older people in my church don't like the word "conspiracy" so we're unfortunately not allowed to use it. :) Ha!
Totally late in responding to this - but we had a church open house to invite people into our beautiful worship space and had this video playing on the wall.
We also had an alternative gift fair going in the fellowship hall with a booth for Heifer Project, our mission hospital in Tanzania, and homebaked goods and jars of mixes. It was a great success and people really enjoyed taking a break from the craziness of the malls in order to buy gifts with meaning.
